13.6 Configuring “Guest” Network Wireless Settings
The Guest Settings describe the MAC Address (read-only) and wireless network name
(SSID) for the Guest Network as described in Table 13.5. Configuring an access point with
two different network names (SSIDs) allows you to leverage the Guest interface feature on
the 9160 G2 Wireless Gateway. For more information, see Chapter 14: “Setting Up Guest
Access”.

Field Description
MAC Address
Shows the
MAC
address(es) for Internal interface for this access point. This is a read-only field that you can-
not change.
Although this access is point is physically a single device, it can be represented on the network as two or
more nodes each with a unique MAC Address. This is accomplished by using multiple
Basic Service Set
Identifiers
(
BSSID
s) for a single access point.
The MAC address(es) shown for the “Internal” access point is the BSSID(s) for the “Internal” interface.
For the two-radio AP, two MAC addresses are shown: one for each Radio on the Internal interface.
Wireless
Network Name
(SSID)
Enter the
SSID
for the internal WLAN.
The
Service Set Identifier
(
SSID
) is an alphanumeric string of up to 32 characters that uniquely identifies a
wireless local area network. It is also referred to as the
Network Name
. There are no restrictions on the
characters that may be used in an SSID.
