Chapter 8: Peripheral Devices & Accessories
Using Microsoft® ActiveSync® To Work With Files
To link the WORKABOUT PRO to a PC:
• Insert the hand-held in the desktop docking station.
• Insert the USB cable into the docking station Client USB connector. Attach
the other end of the cable to a USB port on the PC.
You’ll need to install connectivity software on your PC before you can pass
information between the hand-held and the PC.

ActiveSync
®
To Work With Files
ActiveSync® – Microsoft PC connectivity software – can be used to connect the
WORKABOUT PRO to PCs running this software. You’ll be able to:
• View WORKABOUT PRO files from Windows Explorer.
• Drag and drop files between the WORKABOUT PRO and the PC in the
same way that you would between PC drives.
• Back up WORKABOUT PRO files to the PC, then restore them from the
PC to the hand-held again, if needed, and so on.
Note: You’ll need the USB setup utility to configure the .ini file. For information
about this USB application, refer to Appendix C: USB Setup Application.
To install ActiveSync, follow the step-by-step instructions provided with the
program’s setup wizard. Refer to the following website for details:

8.4.8 Linking A WORKABOUT PRO To An Ethernet Network
An USB-Ethernet adaptor cable (WA4010) is available to connect the
WORKABOUT PRO to an Ethernet network through the desktop docking station.
